摘要:

费孝通先生在《皇权与绅权》中,通过回到经典的方式,突出了"士"的消极态度。这是一种社会意识,并具有重要的方法论意义。"士"的消极可以分为"绅"的消极和"隐"的消极,前者回避皇帝,后者拒绝皇帝,使得士既可以入世为官绅,也可以出世为隐逸。"隐"服从于体现为"修身"的"士志于道"的理想,又因为世间与超世间的"不即不离"的关系,使"隐"异于印度和欧洲的遁世修行者,而是与"绅"一起,互补地支撑了"士"与"皇"的关系结构。

英文摘要:

In China' s Gentry , Fei Xiaotong highlighted the passiveness of the Chinese literati (shi) by recourse to the Chinese classics.The passiveness is an ideology ,methodologically important to the sociological inquiry .It is ready to be divided into the gentry' s passiveness and the renouncer' s (yin) passiveness.The former avoids the emperor , while the latter rejects him.Together they entitle the literati to choose between becoming official-gentry and becoming world-renoucer .Renunciation is a way to express

the ideal of“ the scholar' s vocation of keeping the Way (dao)”through “selfcultivation”.Because the Chinese world of mundane and extramundane is an identicalwhile-

distinct one , unlike their Indian or European counterparts, Chinese renouncers sustain the “literati-emperor” structure by joining it complementarily with the gentry .
